A diagnosis is a useful starting point, but it rarely tells the whole story. Two people with the same diagnosis can need very different care depending on their sleep, stress, health history, relationships, school or work demands, and what they want from treatment.
That's why every plan at Joy Integrative Psychiatry starts with a careful look at the full picture. When medication makes sense, it is chosen thoughtfully and adjusted carefully. Common questions
Where do appointments take place?
Most appointments are held by secure, HIPAA-compliant video, and you need to be physically located in Arizona at the time of each appointment. On-site visits to care facilities are available by request. Please call to discuss.
What ages do you treat?
Children age 6 and older, adolescents, and adults. For patients under 18, a parent or legal guardian takes part in the evaluation and gives consent for treatment.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes. We are in-network with plans including Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna and Evernorth, Health Net and Carelon Behavioral Health. Coverage depends on your specific plan, so please see our insurance and payment page or call us to confirm before your first visit.
Do I need a referral?
Most patients do not need a referral to schedule. Some insurance plans require one for specialty care, so it's worth checking with your plan. Therapists, primary care clinicians and pediatricians are also welcome to refer patients.
